Andy was born and raised in the greater Philadelphia area by his mother and father, and along with his two sisters. He loved school and excelled academically, was a proud member and captain of both the Varsity Ice Hockey Team and Varsity Golf teams in high school, and he participated in numerous clubs and volunteer activities.

In his 29 years, he made an impact on every single person that he met. Andy was exceptionally charismatic, engaging, a committed friend and active leader in his communities. Friends and family remember him for everything from leading the team on the ice rink to dancing in the living room with his younger cousins. He was exceptionally loved.

After high school Andy heading off to Colgate University where he made many friends and met his wife. After graduation and a fabulous wedding, the couple moved to Boston where Andy pursued a teaching degree, lead summer camp, and served as a Big Brother in Boston’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

Andy passed suddenly in May of 2018 and the Andy Bruce Foundation was created the foundation to support communities and individuals that would connect his closest family to him or that he would be connected to.
